THOUGHT OF THE DAY

      From bondage to spiritual faith;
      From spiritual faith to great courage;
      From courage to liberty;
      From liberty to abundance;
      From abundance to complacency;
     From complacency to apathy;
      From apathy to dependence;
      From dependency back into bondage.”

If BCW&S is a department of Berkeley County Government, why do they have their own Human Resource Department. BC Government handles the HR function for all other County Departments and elected offices personnel. I guess they are termed a department only when the County needs to use some of their money to make things look good.

Wow! the best jobs in Berkeley County is at BCWS. Heard that all employees get their family insurance paid by BCWS. Also, they are the only County Department that has it's owner lawyer. Does that sound like a County Department or a separate entity.

According to their web site:
BCWS pays a portion of the spousal/child/full family health premiums for all health care plans and 100% of the employee’s premium if you choose to elect BCBS Standard, however; if you choose to elect BlueChoice or Cigna, you will be responsible for a portion of the employee’s premium.

Today's Berkeley Independent reports:
"Call has stated that he plans to take his fight over the election to the state supreme court. His lawsuit protesting the primary election claimed that Gunn and Berkeley County Republican Party Chairman Tim Callanan did not file Gunn’s candidacy paperwork correctly."

He just can't give it up.

Here's some BS. He's had raises since he has been in office.

"P&C" Davis, who was attending to a personal matter Wednesday morning, was excluded after County Attorney Nicole Scott Ewing told council that “after a quick and dirty reading of the plain language of the (state) law, it appears the council cannot give him an increase in salary” during his term of office.
