WHO'S LEFT HOLDING THE "BAG"?
It would appear the poison pen campaign against Council's choice for Clerk of Council has failed miserably. Council's choice has been installed. DD is suspiciously quiet and, judging from his history, that's never a good thing. His counter move remains to be seen. But rest assured, there will be a counter move.

We should be looking for someone to REPLACE him in 2014 as well as Schurlknight... not too early to start those campaigns.
Berkeley County citizens are left holding the bag.. someone woefully unprepared to replace the former Clerk to Council is now in place... let's see how that works out.

down in money once they made a deal.
what about the jail that is over crowded and cant open the new 2 sections because council wont fund the sheriff hiring the staff. which supervisor caused this 10 million dollar pork spending??
Hey, Mr. Obvious, none of our readers(or us, for that matter) will EVER figure out who posted the nasty comment about the new Clerk of Council. Just goes to prove, Folks, you can't fix stupid.
I see the creation of a liaison person as a layer of bureaucratic BS between the Supervisor and Council. My view is DD got just what he wanted. It will be interesting to see how the budget shakes out this year. EMS and the Sheriff's patrol vehicles have not been on a regular replacement rotation for years. It will take several million dollars to make a large dent in upgrading both fleets. 25 percent of the Sheriff's patrol vehicles have over 250,000 actual road miles not to mention the on scene idle time. Along with the overcrowded jail situation, the county is in just wonderful shape.

Hey, A CHANGE WAS NEEDED the day DD officially took the job!! As mentioned in another comment "you can't fix stupid" which applies to those citizens who voted for the little sawed-off idiot! Unfortunately ALL citizens are left to suffer!! The truth be known, he probably orchestrated the illegal actions committed by the Berkeley County School District AND the Berkeley County School Board currently under investigation by the SC Attorney General! I understand that, last year when there was discussion and controversy concerning the FELO money that SHOULD have gone to the School District, DD invited the School Supt. to his office for a private meeting! No doubt they reached an agreement which brought on the current problem. I hope the AG's investigation brings Mr. DD into the "storm"!! This could be bigger than Operation Lost Trust!
